Best New songRadiohead — Man of War
Posted by LetsLoop on June 22, 2017, 2:00 pm First recorded 21 years ago, Man of War is the latest track to surface from OKNOTOK: an upcoming 2-disc reissue of @Radiohead's seminal 1997 album, OK Computer, in celebration of its 20th anniversary.Man of War is the second of three previously unreleased tracks to surface from OKNOTOK and joins the recently released, and quite spectacular, I Promise.
That leaves just one more new (old) track from the upcoming album to be released: Lift. But maybe we shouldn't get too excited about that one, after all Ed O'Brien did describe it as "a bogshite B-Side". In its defence though, Jonny Greenwood insists it's now a "management favourite". Guess we'll have to make our own minds up.
Alongside the 3 previously unreleased tracks will be 8 B-Sides and all 12 tracks from the original album, digitally remastered from the original analog tapes. And in addition to the digital release, the band are also selling a Boxed Edition, which comes in a black box with heavyweight 180 gram 12” vinyl records, a hardcover book with over 30 pieces of art, a notebook with 104 pages of scrawled Thom Yorke notes, a 48-page sketchbook of Stanley Donwood and Yorke’s "preparatory work", and a cassette mixtape with OK Computer demo and session tapes.
You can find out more information about the physical release and purchase the Boxed Edition, Vinyl, CD or Digital versions here: oknotok.co.uk
OKNOTOK will be released on June 23rd: exactly 20 years, 1 month and 2 days after its original release on May 21st, 1997. It is the Oxford band's first new release since last year's #MercuryPrize nominated album, A Moon Shaped Pool.
