Automaton is the lead single to the British band's upcoming 8th album, Automaton, and got its first play last night on Jo Whiley’s #BBCRadio2 show. The track is inescapably Jamiroquai and maintains the signature funky sound of the Virtual Insanity days, not to mention Jay Kay's infectious vocals. There is also a strong similarity to some of the songs on @Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, which has to bode well for the upcoming album.

"The inspiration for Automaton is in recognition of the rise of artificial intelligence and technology in our world today and how we as humans are beginning to forget the more pleasant, simple and eloquent things in life and in our environment including our relationship with one another as human beings."
