- The looper chart shows the most popular people on LetsLoop based on the number of times they’ve been relooped (+2 points) and how many likes they’ve received (+1 point) (you can learn more about user charts in the Charts section of the FAQ)
Looping
1What is looping?
Looping is the act of sharing music on LetsLoop. Think of it like posting on Facebook or tweeting on Twitter.
2What can I loop?
Loops are divided into 6 categories: songs, albums, playlists, concerts, links & chat.
3How do I loop?
There are 2 ways to loop:
- The Loop form
- Simply click "Start a Loop" in the header, select the loop category you want and fill in the form
- The Loop button
- The easiest way to loop is by using the loop button anywhere you see it on the site. The loop button does everything for you, all you need to do is add a comment
4Can people listen to my loops?
Yes. All you need to do is loop, we’ll take care of the listening for you. Your followers will be able to listen to your song and album loops with YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud & Vimeo. They will also be able to listen to any YouTube, Vimeo & SoundCloud link loops (tip: only post a YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud link when it is unrelated to a song).
5Can I share my loops on Facebook & Twitter?
Yes. To share to Facebook and/or Twitter at the same time as looping simply select the tickbox when you’re filling out the loop form or using the loop button. You can also share any existing loop by selecting that option from the More button.
6Will you automatically share my loops on Facebook & Twitter?
Absolutely not, we hate it when sites do that. Sharing is in your control. In fact, we even added a preview so you can see exactly what it will look like before sharing.
7Can I tag people or artists in my loops?
Yes. You can use @tags to link to artist or user pages and #tags to link to other loops/topics. You can even @tag other albums and songs. For more details on tagging, please see the Other Stuff section of the FAQ.
8Who will see my loops?
Only your followers will see your loops in The Loop. However your loops will be displayed on the corresponding artist page when you loop a song, album or concert, and they will also be displayed on your profile page (who sees this can be controlled in your privacy settings).
9Any tips for using the Loop form?
We hope the Loop form is easy to use and fairly intuitive, but here are a few tips just in case:
- Always fill the Loop form out in the correct order. This helps us with the results e.g. we will narrow down the song auto-complete based on the artist you enter
- Use the auto-complete when filling out the artist, song and album fields (this guarantees no errors). Just start typing the first few letters and the auto-complete will kick in
- Enter the Artist and the Song/Album in the correct fields
- Always select the artist or user from the auto-complete when @tagging in chat loops or comments. There is more on tagging in the Other Stuff section of the FAQ
- Only post YouTube, SoundCloud or Vimeo as a Link if it isn't related to a song. Otherwise the song won't get the credit in the song chart
- You can edit the title of Links after they have been fetched
- Tick the Facebook or Twitter options if you would like to share at the same time as looping
10Any rules on looping?
Just one: you can only loop the same thing once a week. This is to stop people manipulating the charts. But if you really like it you can come back next week to loop it again.
Fanning & Liking
1What is the difference between Fanning & Liking?
If you Fan a song, album, playlist, link or artist we will save it to your profile, e.g. if you Fan a Song, it will be saved to your Favourite Songs. Liking a Loop is a way of letting someone know that you like their loop, but without saving it to your profile (think Facebook Likes)
2Why Fan?
There are plenty of reasons to fan something on LetsLoop:
- It's a quick & easy way to save something to your profile
- To influence the charts. Every time you Fan a song, album, playlist or artist it receives 1 point
- To help your followers discover more about your taste in music
- To help us improve your LetsLoop experience. The music you're a fan of is used to help us suggest artists you might like and users you might want to follow
3Why Like a Loop?
There are plenty of reasons to Like a Loop:
- To let someone know that you like their loop
- To influence the charts. Whenever you like someone's loop, they receive 1 point
- To gain followers. The more generous you are with your Likes, the more likely the person is to follow you back
Listening
1Can I listen to everything on LetsLoop?
Yes. You can listen to over 35 million songs, albums and playlists, without ever leaving LetsLoop, with YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, Vimeo or SoundCloud.
2Is listening free?
Yes. You will need to have an account with Spotify or Deezer to use those services however.
3How do I choose what to source to listen with?
The default player is YouTube, but you can easily change to listen with another source. Simply click play to start the songs & then click the YouTube logo to the left of the player. This will open a menu for you to select another source, which we will remember for next time.
4Surely you can’t listen to albums and playlists on YouTube?
Actually, on LetsLoop you can. You can watch seamless YouTube video playlists for every album and playlist on LetsLoop. All you need to do is click play.
5Can I save what I'm listening to for later?
Yes, this is what playlists are for. To create a new playlist, or save to an existing one, click the More button & select Add To Playlist and it will be saved to the Playlist tab of your profile page. Please see the Profile pages section of the FAQ for more details on playlists.
6How come loops don't play in my preferred source?
When someone loops a song, they also pick a listening source that is available for all users to listen to (YouTube, SoundCloud or Vimeo as not everyone has a streaming subscription). As always, you can change the source of the player by clicking the logo on the left side of the player.

Charts
1What are the LetsLoop charts?
The LetsLoop charts display the most popular songs, albums, playlists, artists & loopers on LetsLoop.
Every activity on LetsLoop contributes to the charts: loop / reloop (+2 points), fan (+1 point), like a loop (+1 looper point).
2How are the charts calculated?
The number of points determines the chart position. Let’s take each chart individually to demonstrate this:
-
Song chart
- Number of Loops (+2 points each)
- Number of Fans (+1 point each)
For example, a song with 20 loops (20*2=40) and 30 fans (30*1=30) will have 70 points.
-
Album chart
- Number of Loops (+2 points each)
- Number of Fans (+1 point each)
-
Playlist chart
- Number of Loops (+2 points each)
- Number of Fans (+1 point each)
-
Artist chart
The Artist chart ranks artists based on how popular they are on LetsLoop and includes all loop categories (songs, albums etc):
- Number of Loops (+2 points each)
- Number of Fans (+1 point each)
- Number of people Attending concerts (+1 point each)
-
Looper chart
The Looper chart rank users based on the quality of their loops. If your loops are good you’ll get more reloops and you will receive more likes. How do you rank against your friends?
- Number of times Relooped (+2 points each)
- Number of Likes (+1 point each)
Other stuff
1How does the Search bar work?
The search bar is designed to help you quickly jump to Artist, Album, Song & Profile pages. Here's how it woks:
- Start typing the name of the artist, album, song or user you are looking for
- Wait for the auto-complete to kick in (this should happen straight away)
- Select the page you want to visit using the arrow keys or your mouse (the top hit is automatically selected so if that is the one you want just hit enter)
- If the artist or user you are looking for isn't displayed select "See All Results For" at the bottom of the auto-complete to visit the Search page (see below)
2How does the Search page work?
The search page breaks the results for your search term into the following sections: Loops, Users, Artists, Albums & Songs.
3Why am I on the Search page?
There are 2 ways you could have landed on the search page:
- You selected "See All Results For" at the bottom of the auto-complete in the Search bar
- You hit enter in the Search bar before the auto-complete kicked in, prompting a free-text search for that term
To avoid landing on the Search page (if you don't want to), make sure you select the artist, song, album or user page you want to visit from the auto-complete in the search bar.
4How does tagging work?
There are 2 ways to tag on LetsLoop: @tags or #tags. You can use these in comments or chat loops to provide context, link to other pages (@tags) or link to other loops/topics (#tags). Here's how they work:
- @tags
- @tags let you link your loop or comment to another artist, album, song or user page
- In the chat or comment form, type "@" immediately followed by the artist, album, song or user name you would like to tag. Highlight the correct entry from the auto-complete and hit enter
- #tags
- #tags work just like Twitter, simply type "#" followed by the tag you'd like to add (with no spaces). Popular tags will be presented in the auto-complete
- Anyone who clicks this tag will be taken to the Hashtag page showing all loops with that #tag, along with a #tag cloud with other popular tags
5How do I receive Concert suggestions?
We can let you know when your favourite artists are coming to your town in the Concerts page, here's how you don't miss out:
- Become a Fan of artists
- We use the artists you are a fan of to provide you with concert suggestions; the more artists you are a fan of, the more suggestions you will receive
- Add your location
- To avoid us informing you about concerts on the other side of the world, add your current location in your Account Settings. This means we will only let you know about concerts that are relevant to you
6What does Sort do?
The sort option is a great way to filter what you see in your homepage and the charts. Here are the sort options:
- Loop category (homepage only)
- Choose between viewing All Loops (default) or a specific loop category (songs, albums, events, links or chat)
- User category
- Choose who you would like to see loops from: The People You Are Following (default), Everyone on LetsLoop, The People Following You, Your Friends (you both follow each other), New Members or Similar Users (you have more than 5 artists in common)
- Music tags/genres
- See loops or chart entries from a specific genre. It would be impossible to include every genre in this list so we have narrowed it down to the most popular genres on LetsLoop (this is constantly updated)
- Display
- Choose between the Most Recent loops (default), Most Popular loops or, for a little fun, a Lucky Dip
- Timeframe (charts only)
- Choose the timeframe the charts are based on: All Time (default), Last Day, Last Week, Last Month or Last Year
6Can I access LetsLoop on my smartphone or tablet?
Yes. Here's what you should expect:
- Tablets (iPads etc)
- LetsLoop on your tablet should perform in a very similar way to the main site. We have obviously optimised a few things for the touchscreen and removed some unnecessary features, but we hope your LetsLoop tablet experience will be just as good as on the main site
- Smartphones (iPhones etc)
- We have decided to take a slightly different approach with smartphones based on how we think you will want to use LetsLoop on the go. The main focus for our mobile site is to provide you with a clean and easy way to view loops, listen, comment, fan, like and loop. Therefore there are currently some features from the website that we currently don't support on the mobile site. We do hope to bring more of LetsLoop's awesome features to your phone very soon
7Is there a LetsLoop app?
Currently no, but we plan to develop one very soon. In the meantime you can still use LetsLoop on your smartphone or tablet
