Posted by LetsLoop on February 18, 2017, 10:22 pm@Lana Del Rey has shared a gorgeous vintage-looking video for Love, the stunning lead single to her upcoming 5th album, which is due later this year and follows up 2015's Honeymoon.
The video was directed by Rich Lee and the song was produced by long-time collaborator Rick Nowels, alongside @Emile Haynie and Benny Blanco, who recently co-wrote and produced @Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hill.
Here's what Lana had to say about her upcoming album:
"I made my first 4 albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed."
In a further interview with Jo Whiley on her #BBCRadio2 show, Lana went on to say that she:
"...started out thinking that the whole record was going to have sort of a, like, a '50s, '60s feeling, with some kind of Shangri-La, early @Joan Baez influences, but as the climate kept on getting more heated politically, I found, like, lyrically everything was just directed towards that, so because of that, the sound just got really updated, and I felt like it was more wanting to, like, talk to the younger side of the audience I have. I guess it's just a little more socially aware. That's kind of a global feeling."
She also revealed that she's working with @Miles Kane from @The Last Shadow Puppets on a new project. No details yet on when we can expect to hear anything, but we promise to keep you posted.
And ICYMI, Lana recently tweeted out a set of dates (twitter.com/LanaDelRey/sta...) sparking rumours that there was another single on the way... sadly not. Instead it turns out that Lana's participating in a binding witchcraft ritual to try to remove Trump from office. Seriously! Surprising as it sounds the spell doesn't seem to have worked yet, but fingers crossed :)
Love is Lana's first new song since appearing on @The Weeknd's Starboy album last year.
