Posted by LetsLoop on May 31, 2017, 2:47 pmLondon-based singer-songwriter @Benjamin Clementine has shared an epic, six-and-a-half minute long new single called Phantom Of Aleppoville, his first solo release since winning the 2015 #MercuryPrize for his breathtaking debut album, At Least For Now.
Phantom Of Aleppoville is inspired by the writing of child psychologist Donald Winicott, who worked with children who’d experienced bullying in the home and at school, realising that while the trauma wasn’t totally comparable in scale to kids displaced by war, the effects followed a similar pattern. In Benjamin's own words: "Aleppoville is a place where many are bullied if not all, but no one understands nor see why; Phantom."
The song, which is accompanied by a stunning video directed by British photographer Craig McDean and Russian filmmaker Masha Vasyukova, is expected to feature on the singer's much-anticipated 2nd album (due later this year).
