Best New songTimber Timbre — Les Egouts
Posted by LetsLoop on September 14, 2017, 5:14 am It's not even been 6 months since their last album, the stunning Sincerely, Future Pollution, but Canadian indie-rockers @Timber Timbre are already back with a new song called Les Egouts. With the song quietly uploaded to their Bandcamp and YouTube pages, with no posts (so far) on their social media profiles, all we know about the new single is that frontman Taylor Kirk is singing in French and that the song follows the theme of their last album: Les Egouts means "sewers" and Sincerely, Future Pollution's lead single was called Sewer Blues.
The sewer theme can be further explained by Taylor's description of the album as a "document of this generation's degeneration and disarray". He continued:
"2016 was a very difficult time to observe. I hate to admit that normally I express more sensitivity than concern politically, but I think the tone and result on the record is utter chaos and confusion. When we were recording, the premonition was that the events we saw unfolding were an elaborate hoax. But the mockery made of our power system spawned a lot of dark, dystopic thoughts and ideas. And then it all happened, while everyone was on Instagram. The sewers overflowed."
Based on the above we're guessing that Les Egouts was recorded during the Sincerely, Future Pollution sessions and isn't from a new album, but if we hear anything to the contrary we'll update you below. In the meantime, enjoy!
